Terms of Service

Last updated: September 1, 2026

Draft pending legal review. These terms reflect how Swipea actually works today, but they have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and will be updated before or shortly after launch.

By creating a Swipea account you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

1. Who can use Swipea

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. You may not use Swipea if you have previously been removed for a safety or conduct violation, or if you are required to register as a sex offender anywhere.

2. Your account

One account per person. Give accurate information — your real name, your real age and recent photos of yourself. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at hola@swipea.app if you think someone else has access to it.

3. What you post

You keep ownership of your photos, your bio and everything else you publish. By posting it you give Swipea permission to host it and show it to other users of the app, so that the service can work. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for safety or legal reasons.

You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it. Do not upload other people's photos, and do not publish anyone else's private information.

4. Acceptable use

Our Community Guidelines are part of these terms. In short, do not: harass, threaten or hate; post nudity or sexual content; impersonate anyone; solicit money, sell anything or run scams; spam; post content involving minors; or use Swipea for anything illegal. Do not scrape the app, reverse-engineer it, automate it with bots, or try to break its security.

We may remove content, restrict features, suspend or permanently ban an account that breaks these rules — in serious cases, without warning.

5. Safety is shared

Swipea does not run criminal background checks on its users. We verify selfies, moderate content and act on reports, but we cannot guarantee that anyone is who they claim to be. Read our Safety Tips and use your judgement: you are responsible for your interactions and for your safety when you meet someone.

6. No guarantee of matches

Swipea is a service for meeting people, not a promise of results. We do not guarantee matches, replies, dates or relationships, and we do not guarantee that the app will always be available or free of errors.

7. Subscriptions and payments

Swipea is free to use. Some features are part of an optional paid subscription (Swipea Plus / Swipea Pro) and some are one-off purchases.

8. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Swipea and delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. We can suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms or the Community Guidelines, if it is necessary to protect other users, or if we stop operating the service. If your account is terminated for a violation, you may not create a new one.

9. Liability

Swipea is provided "as is". To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, for the conduct of other users online or offline, or for content you access through the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Where a limitation is enforceable, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars, whichever is greater.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Swipea after a change means you accept the new version.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, and the courts of Montevideo, Uruguay have jurisdiction — without depriving you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in the country where you live.
